A Node-Locked License is permanently tied to a single computer system and is intended for dedicated single-machine usage.
Once activated:
- The license becomes securely associated with the machine configuration
- The license cannot be transferred manually to another system
- Copying or reinstalling the license file will not migrate the activation
- The license is valid only on the originally activated machine
A Node-Locked License can only be used on one system.
Example:
- License activated on PC A
- Same license cannot be activated on PC B
EGBoundary uses hardware-based locking mechanisms to prevent:
- Unauthorized sharing
- Duplicate activations
- Multi-device reuse
- Manual license transfer attempts
Node Lock licenses support offline usage for a limited duration.
- Maximum offline duration:
- After 72 hours:
- Internet reconnection is required
- License status verification will occur automatically
This helps ensure secure and valid license usage.
The following actions do NOT transfer activation:
- Copying license files
- Reinstalling Windows
- Manually moving license files
- Using the same file on another PC
EGBoundary supports migration from:
Node Lock → Floating License
However:
Floating License → Node Lock
is NOT supported.
Migration from Node Lock to Floating License is permanent.
Once migrated:
- Existing Node-Locked License is revoked
- Previous activation becomes invalid
- License usage follows Floating License rules
Please evaluate workflow requirements carefully before requesting migration.
Node Lock licensing is best suited for:
- Dedicated workstation usage
- Individual professionals
- Single-machine environments
- Offline-focused workflows
- Stable internet connection is required for initial activation
- Tampering with license mechanisms may result in license termination
- License remains valid only for supported CAD versions
